Tongan government auxiliary ketch HIFOFUA berthed at unidentified wharf. View is slightly obscured by a line of rope that cuts across the lower half of the image at a diagonal.

Photograph captioned in white ink on album page: "Tongan Govt. aux. ketch 'HIFOFUA'. Built in Auckland for dispatch duty between the islands of the group."

Foss Tackaberry was an engineer with the Auckland Harbour Board. He became the foreman of works on the waterfront. He retired mid 1960s but was re-hired to oversee the floating of the dredge HAPAI.
