Description
View along a broad wharf with Shed 39 in distance. A line of vessels are berthed at wharf on right-hand side of picture to unload various cargo SS KAIMANAWA (1909) discharging coal. SS GOLDEN SEA (1924) discharging motor spirit in cases. SS EL CIEVRO discharging bulk motor spirit). Groups of men are walking down the side of wharf, towards the camera.

Foss Tackaberry was an engineer with the Auckland Harbour Board. He became the foreman of works on the waterfront. He retired mid 1960s but was re-hired to oversee the floating of the dredge HAPAI.
