In the foreground three people are sitting on a park bench with their backs to the camera. A man and a woman sit together on the left and another man sits side on reading a magazine or newspaper. They are facing a boat harbour with a number of small boats at anchor. To the right on the landward side is a row of boatsheds. Behind them a hill rises up covered with wooden houses. In the upper left corner is a large building with a cross on one side (St Gerard's Monastery). Wellington, circa 1950s.
