Object detail

A propeller blade from an Auckland steam ferry. Removed around 1981 when the derelict double ended ferries were broken up and buried in a reclamation at St Mary's Bay (Westhaven). Blade has holes to be mounted to a central hub. Appears to be from a four bladed propeller.
Probably from THE PEREGRINE (1912), MAKORA (1921), TAKAPUNA (1924), or KOREA (1937)
