Description
Large crystal tumbler. Striated, with an etched USSCo logo on the side.
Part of a set of ten crystal glassware items that were removed from AWATEA (1936) a Union SS Co of New Zealand Ltd vessel, prior to her departure for the war when a trans-Tasman steam ocean liner operating between Wellington, Auckland and Sydney, before being used as a troop ship in World War Two. Awatea is a Māori word meaning "eye of the dawn".
