Black and white photograph of logs being discharged off scow, RANGI (1905), at the Leyland O'Brien timber mill, Freeman's Bay, Auckland.

Handwritten annotation in pencil by Cliff Hawkins on verso reads; "Rangi, discharging logs at L.O.B's mill, Freeman's Bay, Auckland".

Cliff Hawkins travelled on the scow RANGI, a timber log cargo scow, in 1934, at the age of twenty years and in 1936, documenting the trips in journals, logs and photographs taken on his Kodak 'Box Brownie' camera.
