Object detail

A colourised black and white photograph of medical staff from TSS MARAMA (1907) in ship's boats, Southampton, England. Two full dinghies/rowboats are being towed by one of MARAMA's two motor launches. Unknown if this is NAUTILUS (1913) or MARAMA's unnamed second motor launch, although comparative images suggest it is likely the unnamed launch. Handwritten caption reads "Marama medical staff going on leave at Southampton".
From an album of photographs taken from HMNZHS No. 2 (TSS MARAMA) spanning the years 1915-1917, during MARAMA's operation as a World War I hospital ship.
