Description
Two tapes, master and copy, transcript on file Phillippa [Pip] Were (nee Reynolds), was one of the first New Zealand women to become a radio officer in the merchant service. Phillippa served with The Shipping Corporation of New Zealand. The interview covers how she qualified, resistance to her wanting to become a radio officer, experiences at sea, her duties as radio officer.
