View up to Waipapa Point lighthouse, silhouetted seal in foreground. Photographer's caption: "LIGHTHOUSE ODDMENTS. WAIPAPA 1968. Shot of the tower taken from the beach the head sticking up belongs to a very large seal who used to visit our steers for company."
Murray Williscroft was a lighthouse keeper, who, along with his wife Ventris worked on a number of stations around New Zealand in the 1950s-60s.
