Description
A copy of a black and white photograph of Te Aro showing the Te Aro Hotel, taken from Dixon Street behind St John's Church looking towards Clyde Quay. In the foreground are several buildings, including a church with a spire. Beyond the buildings is a harbour with about five ships moored in the stream on the far left. In the right distance a hilly peninsula juts out. The near lower slopes are covered with houses. On the lower left corner are the words "358 Wellington" written in white. On the lower right corner are the words "Burton Bros., Dunedin". Wellington, 1867-1896.
