Description
Shell of a little, or allied, shearwater egg which has been blown and has a small hole on one side. Off white coloured shell with some staining. Pencil inscription on egg: Allied shearwater.
Part of a collection of predominantly Pacific region sea shells and New Zealand seabird eggs collected by Frances Shakespear. Possibly collected from Hauturu or one of the neighbouring islands where these birds bred at the time.
