The owner of the Evinrude outboard was Harry [Pete] Frederick Hamilton. It was purchased by a family member living overseas and a Customs Import Licence to import the outboard into New Zealand was required. Harry [Pete] Hamilton was a builder and around 1965/66 he built a 12 ft dinghy, and had a keeler moored at Waiake Beach where the family lived, this outboard motor was used there and on family holidays at Puriri Bay, Whangaruru.
