Title page indexed album compiled by F.W. Coombes. Stamped with the former owner's name "Gilbert Gane" at top centre. Handwritten note reads "Paintings by F.W. Coombes (of San Francisco?). Mr Combes owned a schooner. Gib met artist in Auckland through Uncle Frank Atkinson (Dr.)"HARRIER, UNDINE and LARK), SS ROTOMAHANA (Union Steam Ship Company), SS HAUROTO in a gale Auckland to Sydney Oct 1886 (Union Steam Ship Company), SS UMBRIA (Cunard).
