Description
The Coronation Medal 1953, awarded to George Davis. Part of a mounted set of full-sized medals belonging to Davis from both World War I and World War II. Mounted last (far right).
The Coronation Medal 1953 was issued to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Awarded to citizens of the British Commonwealth. Ribbon is maroon with a double blue stripe in centre and white edging stripes. Obverse has a right-facing profile of Queen Victoria II with no writing. Reverse has a central crowned cypher of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by her coronation date.
