Description
Black and white photograph of HENRIETTA (1915), Hobart, 1939. A handwritten annotation on the verso by Cliff Hawkins, reads: "Henrietta at Hobart 1939".

An American-Canadian fishing schooner yacht.

Built in 1915 by Arthur Dana Story in Gloucester, Massachusetts, USA. In 1935 HENRIETTA was bought to Australia. Leaving Geelong before dawn on the morning of 28 September 1940. Henrietta ran into the reef that extends out more than a mile from Point Cook. The crew were rescued HENRIEETA sank and is now a protected dive site under the Heritage Act 1995.
