That's correct. DIOMEDE had a large, enclosed Mk XVI 'weatherproof' mounting at A mount. DUNEDIN did not as shown here. The ship is also wearing at her foremast the broad pendant of the Commodore Commanding NZ Station, who was also First Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board. DUNEDIN was on station 1924-37 and DIOMEDE 1925-36. I'd suggest that the photo is mid-30s.

she is the DUNEDIN rather than DIOMEDE. DIOMEDE had a large turret forward.
